Asia continues to strengthen its position as the main importer of Ukrainian agricultural products. The value of exports to the countries of this region in 2021 increased and reached $13.7 billion. Thus, Asia accounted for more than 49% of all Ukrainian agricultural exports, of which about 15% went to China.
Exports to the countries of the European Union in 2021 increased by 33% in monetary terms, amounting to $8.4 billion. This is due to a global increase in prices for most categories of agricultural products, as well as an increase in shipments. The share of the EU in food exports last year amounted to 30.1%.
The volume of deliveries to African countries also increased. So, at the end of last year, goods worth $3.7 billion (13.3%) were shipped from Ukraine to the region.
Food deliveries to the CIS countries increased by 8% to $1.4, providing the region with a 5.0% share in the export of Ukrainian agro-food.
Although in 2021 the share of agro-industrial complex products in Ukraine's exports slightly decreased, it retained a firm leadership in its commodity structure.
