The European Union allowed Ukraine to ship 77.8 thousand tons of wheat in February. Thus, taking into account the 65.597 thousand tons supplied in January, by the end of this year more than 852.5 thousand tons of domestic wheat will be sent to the EU countries without duties.
In addition, limits on duty-free supplies of barley to Europe have been agreed upon. Thus, the quota for grain shipment in February is set at 1.21 thousand tons (in January - 19.57). For the remaining months of 2022, Ukrainian agricultural producers have the opportunity to export 329.22 thousand tons of barley.
The export of corn in February from Ukraine and other supplier countries was not considered by the European Union.
For reference: In 2021, Ukraine completely closed export quotas to the EU without duties on nine types of products. Thus, honey, flour, cereals, starch, processed starch and tomatoes, grape and apple juice, eggs, poultry meat, as well as processed cereal products were delivered to the countries of the European Union.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agropolitics and Food of our country reported that in the 2021/22 marketing year, which started on July 1, Ukraine increased grain exports.
